John Muir Way Hiking-Cycling Event

24–27 September 2014

Hiking-cycling event in Scotland raised more than £2,000

A coast-to-coast sponsored cycle ride and walk in Scotland raised more than £2,000 for The Union’s Centennial Campaign in September 2014.

The Union’s President, Jane Carter and her husband Tom, travelled from America to participate, along with Union colleagues from Paris and Edinburgh, with friends and family. A group of local high school students also joined the fundraising effort.

Cyclists conquered the full coast-to-coast John Muir Way over three days – 215km through some of Great Britain’s most beautiful countryside, also taking in Edinburgh Castle, Loch Lomond, the Antonine Wall and Linlithgow Castle. Walkers completed the final stage of the route, 24km along the coast in one day.

The event took place from 24–27 September 2014 and was organised by The Union Europe Office.
